only night crawler pieces 1/2 inch long until the frog gets larger.

cut from the anus side of the worm and it will heal up to feed from again.

do not feed red worms! they make a slime that tastes really bad to a frog.

Yes you can feed earthworms. Your frogs will more then likely take night crawlers over red wigglers as Louis said, they secrete a slime when threatened and some animals shy away from them. With being said my whites love red wigglers.

Sorry I do not recommend meal worms or super worms for any frog.
they can cause impaction.

I wouldn't feed meal worms or super worms to whites.

Crickets , Duba roches (nymphs only) unless your whites is really large. greater than 3 inches snout to vent. (anus)
Night crawlers, red runners (another type of roach) small to medium horn worms.
Wax worms on a limited basis (really fatty)
Pinky mice once a month (No live fuzzies they can hurt your frog when they fight for their life.bite and scratch. )

To make feeding roaches, crickets easy use a small glass bowl buried flush with the substrate.
so your babies don't try to eat the prey though the glass.

The best rule of thumb for feeding frogs is not to feed anything larger than the space in between its eyes.
the only prey item that doesn't adhere to this standard is night crawlers.

Dusting with a calcium+D3 every second feeding and gut loading crickets/roaches with fresh vegetables like kale, karats, broccoli is good.
Do not dust worms it will make a real mess and the worm will put out a lot of slime and the frog will not like it.

Dust with a multivitamin once a week and not on the same day as the calcium.

Following this regimen will prevent metabolic bone disease and short tongue syndrome.

To answer on how much to feed.
1/2in dubia roach nymphs 4 to 8 depending on the size of the frog. or as many they will eat in a 10 to 15min or so.
when they are full they will stop.
if you are feeding via the glass bowl it wouldn't hurt to leave them over night.
but don't let feeders have free roam of the enclosure crickets can bite the frog
roaches will burrow into the substrate and the frog will never find them.
