My pixie frog makes a strange noise when I pick it up!

My newest pixie, ever time I pic it up to feed, ect. he makes this noise to threaten me Its like a deep squeeky noise like air being forced out. once he see's I'm feeding him he stops it and eats and I put him back, and he is fine after, but what is this noise? does it mean he is a male? he is very young still. Just curios, thanks

Males and females can make defensive noises in most frogs y'all are lucky mine just lunges at me

Mine does the same thing when i pick him up to go swimming i am pretty sure he or she is saying don't touch me

ya, for over a week, mine has been waking me up early in the morning with croaks. he wont do it when I'm near his tank though LOL

the other night i got woken up by my pac man and pixie croaking along and my bed is legit right next to them it honestly sounded like they were singing together but it was really loud

na, not mean, just got an interesting personality my two pixies act so opposite. my first one I'd almost describe as lovable. He doesn't even mind being held, hand fed, ect. the newer one, wants to hunt on his own only, wont eat if its given to him. He is also snappy, and easily upset. I still think the pissy one is a gal, but not sure yet.
