Having two identical setups, where the only difference is that one is warmer than the other (even if it's not heated by a lamp, just ambiently warmer), the warmer setup will read a lower value on a hygrometer, since relative humidity just measures what percentages of water vapor that is present, in regards to how much water vapor that it can hold as maximum at that temperature). That means that heat does not necessarily always "burns" humidity way, but instead increases the highest amount of water that can be hold, and therefore lowers the percentages shown on a hygrometer. That being said, heat can of course cause a dryer environment and reduce the humidity readings that way as well (actually reducing the water vapor levels). Unfortunately, I do not how much difference actual visible light affects the drying-out process.

I'm sorry, this is hard to explain for me in English. And it's not getting easier when it's 01:30 in the night, and I've worked the entire day...

No worries Martin. I understand relative humidity and my Hygrotherm reads relative humidity. Its a pretty cool device. Even converts Fereinheight to Celcius on the digital gauge. Has a lot of settings to use. Its a great investment. Once it drops below the set percentage it kicks a fogger on. My infrared lights tend to burn off less humidity than my daylight basking lights. This one reason that I have observed that infrared may not remove as much humidity if there is no actual light produced. Not exactly sure how it works, but its a good thing to think about.

I worked all day too. I start feeling really tired around this time. Its 7:42 pm here.

Lol! I would love to have one of those. I don't even think I have enough equipment to make full use of that enviro control simulator. Not in the budget right now either. Looks worth every penny though. Adding to wish list now

I hear that. Pricey but man i want one. will definitely be saving up for one for my next build. Its going to be plush. You should make your wedding registery for terrarium supplies!!!

    Next build hopes and dreams:

Exo terra 24x18x24 or 24x18x18 with water fall or drip wall
    EcoZone controller
    Mistking
    Reptifogger
Internal circulation fans or maybe air exchanger

    it's going to be pricey

Yeeaaaahhh we checked and Petsmart and the other pet stores around here don do gift registry Lol!

I want one of the larger Exo Terra tanks too. Want to Upgrade my Grif's enclosure to one that has more goind space without taking up too much room and able to hold heat and humidity better. With my Hygrotherm I know it won't be an issue, but I like to have the foggers running less often and for the enclosure to stay warmer with less effort from my heat sources. I've got some ideas, but they won't come to life until I get the tank I wand so I can begin to experiment with it

For what you've got listed there J, its going to be more than pricey Lol! You're looking at a Grand right there not to mention I know you're going to decorate it nicely with live plants and other nice frog environmental furnishings.

I should be able to get the tank I want after I get my tax return so I'm all good there.

Well I can say that if you are going to buy an exo terra tank I'd look into getting it from Jay Deal of Jungle Island Exotic Pets. I don't think you'll find a cheaper price. He is at the reptile show every month and brings exo terra tanks with him. You could probably contact him a few days in advance to ask him to make sure he brings the size you want, i'm pretty sure he carries all the sizes. Just for an example. He had a 24x18x24 for $150. And when you buy it from him at the show its flat price, no tax. He also had a 24x18x36 there (those things are HUGE) for $210 i believe. next show is May 13th

I use this little fan in the summer. It works very well. I may try to reverse the fan/direction on one side? It is practically silent!

you can hook up any computer. If you use a router for your home network you can simply just plug up to the router, you can connect directly to your PC, or you can even buy a wireless adapter and go wireless with it. You can also hook a mistking up to via I/O connection making it so you don't have to hook it up to one of the AC outlets
