J Teezy,
No.
They area attached with magnets. They have holes to hold a 4" potted plant. I have been tempted, however, to silicone them on the glass. But would have to relocate 6 frogs if I were to do so!

Your setup is awesome!! I am going to have to get some of those planters too!
Settings remain the same from 2 weeks ago as follows:
8 settings
-reminder : the enclosure is 36" high with 3 mist heads/ misting with heated distilled water
- finally found a good positions for the mist heads and the temp/humidity probe
-the mist heads are pointed toward the glass rather than toward the center of the enclosure
(when pointed toward the center it was showering the frogs and drowning the plants)

I'm planning on splitting the tubing to add double mist head in a 2nd viv I am planning.
( vertical /conversion)
Had --- what will now be the top--- drilled.
Created a cover to slip the electrical cords ( plugs) and mist tubing through.

Hi Lynn,
What makes you want to silicone them in? I'm in the process of setting up a 6 foot paludarium with a false bottom that I was originally going to silicone, but then changed my mind to use big suction cups so I could remove it if I need to clean under it or whatever... But I'm thinking some strong magnets might make things even easier. Have you had particular trouble with the magnets?
P.S. I absolutely LOVE how you've set yours up with the rocks and pothosdid you grow the pothos yourself or can you buy them that big?
Thanks Kristen,
Hope all is well!
Lots of times the magnets bug me. I have actually have to add magnets as the plants have grown over the past year or so. I do not plant directly in to the planter (the link to the planter place is in my enclosure album). I plant into 4" pots, then plop the pot into the planter. This way the plant can be maintained more easily, if needed. In my 2 viv I am building- I am actually going to silicone the planters onto the glass. I don't think it will difficult to clean around it. I would love to do the same in my existing red eye enclosure. BUT there are 6 frog in it !!! I may do a temp. frog transfer when I am done w/ #2 do do the silicone job in #1. It takes a long time for it to dry !
The pothos is about 2 years old. I think I started w/ a good size plant from Home Depot.
I pulled all the store dirt off and made more than one plant when I re -potted it into Eco-Earth .
I'm getting the plants ready for viv #2. When I get myself organized I will do a build thread.
The plants have been potted for a few weeks now.
Lynn
