So, here's how it all went...
(On a completly unrelated note, I picked up a 10 gallon terrarium with sliding screen hood for crickets that morning...)
I went to my local Pet-Valu (which has just been newly renovated) to pick up some Exo-Terra "Plantation Soil" bricks for my Tomato frog Vivarium build.
I didn't have a clue where they were in the store, since the renovation everything has been moved to different areas in the store, so I asl the girl behind the counter where they are and she points me to their "Reptile Room"... Since when does this place have a reptile room (I think to myself)!? lol
I walk into the room filled with chameleons, geckos, bearded dragons, etc, etc. (and that's about all I can name, don't know my reptiles) and what do I see, in a little 10 gallon on the bottom shelf?
Chubby frogs! Not quite Tomato's but close enough! They were in a terrarium with a vented top, so it's humidity was quite low, they had a water bowl that was about 4" deep (for 1" STV frogs) and about 1/2" of coco-fibre substrate, the only thing that was done correctly with the damp substrate, but the frogs were sitting on the glass becuase there was so little substrate!
I couldn't resist... I bought one, I mean, yeah I was going to be ordering Tomato forgs in another month, but to be honest, where I was getting them from they were 50$-65$ with another 30$ for shipping which was a little over priced if you ask me... lol
Anyway, here's a photo of him:
His name is bobberI know he's a male becuase last night, my toads were coaking, and then all of a sudden, I hear this shrill "peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep" that came from Bobber's tank... my toads never made another sound after that the entire night
This was the temporary tank:
Once I got him back from the store, I think from being in that pet store tank for 1 month, with so little substrate, he was stressed, and when I put him in the 10 gallon with 3" of coco-fibre, he burried right down to the bottom!
As for feeding! I now love captive bred frogs!Never had an eaiser feeding in my life! (When I got him back from the pet store, he GLADLY ate 3 crickets!)
Bought Exo-Terra rubber tip feeding forceps:
I grabbed a cricket with the forceps, seen the hole he had burried in, and moved the cricket around the hole... after a couple of seconds, this cute lil' head popped out of the coco-fibre and grabbed the cricket right out of the forceps! After 4 crickets, I think it was full!
I love this frog, it has an awesome appetite, great colours and seems very healthy!
This is it's new, and permanent home!

P.S. Going back this weekend to pick lil' Bobber up a friend!
That's pretty neat Royce! When I saw your post in the "Enclosure of the Month" I was wondering when you got a chubby frog, haha! So no Tomato frog's then?
(4.0.0)
Whites Tree Frog (1.0.0)
1.1.0 Mixed breed dogs
Very nice Chubby frog Royce; congrats on the new addition!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
My lil' Bobber sure can eat! Just took down 4 5/8" crickets off of the forceps! Aggressive too! I was hanging the crickets by their rear legs, and when he grabbed the cricket, I didn't let go fast enough so he just ripped the cricket from the forceps... leaving me still holding the crickets rear legs!
Here's his viv after a fresh "rain fall"
Here's Bobber, hiding a fern plant:
Also, found out that the purple plant to the side of the tank is called a "Rhoeo" and is also poisonous! If he would have broken one of it's leaves, and got it's sap on his skin, it would have killed him, so once I dug it up, to make sure it was the plant, I broke one of it's leaves open, and squeezed it's "sap" onto my thumb... it's now burning like crazy!
Any suggestions for a similar looking plant to replace it with... one that's not poisonous? -.-

Awesome frog! He's pretty cool. Looks awesome, congrats on your new friend. As for the plant, snake plant looks a lot like it and is really strong. I have one in my white's viv. They are hefty little buggers, and break anything that is too fragile.
When they say "chubby frogs are an eat till they expolad kinds frog" they mean it!!!
Today, he ate 10, yeah, 10 crickets!!! I couldn't believe it!
I wonder if this is becuase he is going through his growing stage? Or maybe it's becuase they only gave him two crickets a day at the pet store...? -.-
Either way, tommorow I'm going to cut down the crickets to 4 maximum (that is, if he's hungry), wouldn't want impaction!

Yaaay! This weekend, I'm going into town to pick up Bobber's old tank mate! I've got a 30-day 2.5 Gallon Kritter Keeper quarantine tank set-up for him (I know it's small, but my 1000 crickets are in the 10 gal, and besides it's only for 30 days, then after that, it's from the 2.5 to the 20 gallon!
)
I called the store this Monday, and asked if they still had the other Asain painted frog, the guy said yeah, then I asked him if they would hold it for me, and he said "Sorry, we can't hold Frogs, and the chubbs [as he calls them] are not big sellers, so we don't want to miss a sale and risk the frog dying (as he says this, he dosen't mention the poor conditions it is being kept in)"... I then said a bought the last one and have the recipt [And frog] to prove it... so he agreed to hold it for me for a week...
