So, here's how it all went...

(On a completly unrelated note, I picked up a 10 gallon terrarium with sliding screen hood for crickets that morning...)

I went to my local Pet-Valu (which has just been newly renovated) to pick up some Exo-Terra "Plantation Soil" bricks for my Tomato frog Vivarium build.

I didn't have a clue where they were in the store, since the renovation everything has been moved to different areas in the store, so I asl the girl behind the counter where they are and she points me to their "Reptile Room"... Since when does this place have a reptile room (I think to myself)!? lol

I walk into the room filled with chameleons, geckos, bearded dragons, etc, etc. (and that's about all I can name, don't know my reptiles ) and what do I see, in a little 10 gallon on the bottom shelf?

Chubby frogs! Not quite Tomato's but close enough! They were in a terrarium with a vented top, so it's humidity was quite low, they had a water bowl that was about 4" deep (for 1" STV frogs) and about 1/2" of coco-fibre substrate, the only thing that was done correctly with the damp substrate, but the frogs were sitting on the glass becuase there was so little substrate!

I couldn't resist... I bought one, I mean, yeah I was going to be ordering Tomato forgs in another month, but to be honest, where I was getting them from they were 50$-65$ with another 30$ for shipping which was a little over priced if you ask me... lol

Anyway, here's a photo of him:


His name is bobber I know he's a male becuase last night, my toads were coaking, and then all of a sudden, I hear this shrill "peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep" that came from Bobber's tank... my toads never made another sound after that the entire night

Once I got him back from the store, I think from being in that pet store tank for 1 month, with so little substrate, he was stressed, and when I put him in the 10 gallon with 3" of coco-fibre, he burried right down to the bottom!


As for feeding! I now love captive bred frogs! Never had an eaiser feeding in my life! (When I got him back from the pet store, he GLADLY ate 3 crickets!)

Bought Exo-Terra rubber tip feeding forceps:


I grabbed a cricket with the forceps, seen the hole he had burried in, and moved the cricket around the hole... after a couple of seconds, this cute lil' head popped out of the coco-fibre and grabbed the cricket right out of the forceps! After 4 crickets, I think it was full!

I love this frog, it has an awesome appetite, great colours and seems very healthy!

This is it's new, and permanent home!
