Default can Red Eyes eat darkling beetles?

I wouldn't say toxic, but like lily said due to the shell impaction and possible prolapse would be my big concern. I have whites and breed mealworms too. I feed them the occasionally meal worm treat, but only when they are baby worms and softer then when adults.
