Your toads look very happy and vibrant. I was wondering what kind of enclosure you have to get them to that beautiful colour. What is the temperature of the tank, and what kind/watt of light do you use?

the adult toads r in a 10 gallon with white gravel on the bottom of the water area, live plants, and a bunch of rocks and a rock cave for land
they have spring water and there is a 40 watt lamp over them keeping them at abt 70 degrees
the toadlets live in a 5 gallon plastic tank with a land and water area with gravel, spring water, and a paper towel over land gravel

I have two toads in a 20g tank, black and white pebble under the water which is also spring, cocofiber on land, and they have both real and artificial wood (I had a plant but removed it, but since putting in a UVB light bulb I might put the plant back). I have a 15w bulb in a heat lamp, so it's more intense than just a regular 15w (But it doesn't give off much heat). It also has a 2.0 UVB. They still don't seem to be adjusting very well. Their water is kept at room temperature, which is generally 77 degrees. They have spots of light green, but they are mostly dark. Is there anything else that I may not be taking into consideration?

    i wouldnt recommend coconut fiber
they turn dark when they r unhappy or r trying to blend in
u should either use rock material as land or softer soil such as plantation soil or moss of any type as long as it's meant for reptiles/amphibs
they dont need uvb either and idk if it's a good idea to have it in their bulbs
focus the lamp over one area of the tank and dont let it get higher than 74 degrees

Oh sorry, I meant the plantation soil >.> I heard UVB isn't harmful to them, because it's meant for amphibians to help increase their activity level and appetite. It's over the water portion to prevent drying out the land area. Unfortunately I can't prevent the water from getting to 77 degrees since I can't control the heat in my house. I'm not sure why they wouldn't be happy. They are eating well. Could it maybe be that the water is just too warm for them?

the water is way too warm
mine do fine without uvb trust me i breed these guys and it's actually better to just have something to give them light
i would use a much smaller bulb over them and if that doesnt work i would use a lamp just pointed at the tank instead of above it and heating the tank up
they really dont need it that warm, they spawn just fine at 70 degrees and are still somewhat active at 55
