Sorry it's sideways. That was my Valentine's Day gift. I know it's labelled as a bromeliad, just wasn't sure if there was a specific kind it might be or if I should just keep calling it the purple monster.

i can tell you it's a vriesea genus, but the cultivar , i have no idea. there are about 200 different cultivars in that genus....LOLSince we seem to be on a roll here ...

Purple monster it is (since I failed Latin in school).
