I just got back from Petsmart and bought some Zoo-med ReptiSafe, I figure even if I don't get the whites I can be adding calcium and electrolytes to the rain water for my greys.

One of the staff there said she always used rain water for her frogs but she had darts and red eyes but she added repti safe to them so idk lol...

My only concern with rain water is that it probably doesn't contain any vitamins and minerals, just like distilled water. Again, I need someone to confirm this, but it makes sense in my mind.

If this ReptiSafe stuff has minerals & electrolytes in it, then problem solved (again, I do not know any of this for sure.)

I just try to think about how the animal would behave in its natural environment. So let's look at dart frogs: they live in the rainforest, sometimes their only real source of water is small puddles of rain water in plants and on leaves. So it makes sense that they would be able to tolerate distilled water or pure rain water.

Now let's consider grey tree frogs: their water sources usually consist of a steam, pond, lake, or vernal pool. All of these water sources would be full of minerals, because they have been washing over rocks & soil. This leads me to believe it is best to provide spring water, well water, or treated tap water for soaking, but it is okay to mist with rain or distilled water, since they do get rained on in nature.

I do not know a whole lot about white's tree frogs, but I would assume the water sources they normally spend time in are similar to that of the grey tree frogs. Probably ponds, lakes, rivers, or streams.

:P I was just kidding around, haha, but thank you! I definitely appreciate the repuation points, I think you're only the second person to ever give me a +rep

All things considered, the whites tree frogs will CERTAINLY be in better hands with you than they are now. I assume you won't be letting any ferrets munch on them? :P

I say get them both, and don't look back. I had a whites when I was a child, and it was a great deal of fun. They are awesome little guys. I wish I had been more informed in my younger years, maybe I would still have him today :-\

I want to help them but I don't want anyone assuming again I am getting animals I can't care for. That's why I need more opinions on the size of terrarium that will be ok.

You can see how many reputation points from your profile XD it may only show 4 cubes on here but I have had more than 4 people give me rep.

    Hi Rae,
I'm trying to get an idea of the viv from the photo you posted, it looks like it's a 33 long? Not high? If that is so, you'd want to upgrade the enclosure, even if you had only one white's. The enclosure in the picture is dirty, yes (but that can be cleaned), more importantly, it doesn't look tall enough. White's like to spend time up high. You could get a zoo-med or exo-terra enclosure measuring 18x18x24 high (29 or 33 gallons? can't remember) and house 2 white's in that quite comfortably. White's need bunches of room. They can get quite large, and they love to jump around at night.
As far as rain water, I personally wouldn't use it for white's. You're better off using treated tap water... just my opinion.

OR, you could convert the viv in the photo to a tall viv by getting a conversion kit....

That has been the million dollar question lol. I had asked if a 33 gallon.. Exo Terra 18x18x24 was big enough to house both of the whites.

    Yes!
An Exo terra 18x18x24 IS big enough for 2 whites, but not 3!! Provide plenty of climbs, plants, etc. so each can stake out their own spots... Also, be sure the water source is big enough for both to fit in at one time.
Of course, bigger is always better when it comes to white's, so you can't go wrong with an even BIGGER enclosure. But I feel that 2 would be comfortable in that size enclosure.
