I'm receiving two Phyllomedusa Tomopterna (Super-Tiger Legged Monkey Frogs) tomorrow and have set up an Exo Terra 12x12x18 for them, which is only 11 gallons. I was worried about size too so I asked the breeder about it and he said they should be fine. I provided them lots of spaces to hide and climb and modified the background that came with the set so they would have a place to sit and look around.
I still feel a little bad about providing them with such a small space for the two of them, but I got the OK from the breeder and definitely feel better about the decision to get two rather than one. These frogs are relatively regular size, about 2 or 2 1/2 inches, but they're thin bodied and won't take up too much space individually.
Bigger is always better, but sometimes a budget doesn't allow for that. I had to go small because of limited space and cash, but I'm OK with my decision, it could be a whole lot worse, after all.
