Feed it a wide variety of insects. The other day mine stuffed itself with six mealworms, two night crawlers and a cicada happend to bombed into the back door of my apartment...Guess where it ended up?
i'm not sure what people are calling red wigglers but, walmart by me sells something called a trout worm and it's alot smaller than a night crawler and red. I feed these and night crawlers to my frog. Also I read you want to watch your frog eat and it seemed worms made that easier. I take out my frogs water bowl and what ever else the crickets get under, example, half of a hollow log. After that I dump about 25 crickets in or so and my frog loooves that. Sometimes he'll even chase them around but, most the time he has his head out of his burrow and he'll actually lung at the ones he targets and jump about 8 inches or so and get them.Other than that, about once a month i'll feed him two fuzzies or 1 hopper. He tends to eat these very quickly. My frog has gotten very large very fast and is very active as well. If you need to have something to keep the crickets in and you only buy 10 at a time, use the cup you got your frog in or just splurge and get a 8 dollar container.
I have no trouble keeping crickets alive just in the bags they come in with. Throw in some fish food and retie it back.
I feed my frogs with earthworms.
We have a small garden – it’s so easy to find them out there – you just turn the soil.
And then they are for free!
