Seriously does anybody keep oak toads (Anaxyrus quercicus) in the united states? I'm going on one (1) whole year now and I'm still trying to get a pair. IMO they would make the best kept american toad due the their small chicken nugget like size and diurnal nature. Why is this species not more popular??

Most likely due to what they eat. They would need very small live-foods, and I think GRABious keeps some, ask him what he feeds them

I agree about them eating very small live-food but so do dart frogs and fire belly toads and those species are everywhere.

Plus, they also may be hard to find, their coloration makes them blend in

yeah they're small and well camouflaged but I've talked to a dude that was herping down in central florida and he said they're everywhere once you find the right spot.

Well, maybe big suppliers haven't found "The right spot." You could always look up which states it's legal to collect them, and find some yourself

You find that website?

Thanks, but they never have them, neither does Backwater. I have a contact now in Florida though.
