Temp fluctuations don't normally cause such issues. pH fluctuations might.

We decided to change out the filter and do a partial water change. And see where that leaves us.
My cat also likes to harass the tank. Could my boy be stressed?

It's possible. Do you frogs have hiding placed in their tank?

What were the actual test results for your water? Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, pH if possible. What test kit do you use?

Just be careful changing the filter - if you don't transfer over all the media you are going to put your tank into a minicycle.

What is their diet like? Any changes in appetite or pooing? Any marks on the skin or abnormal shredding?
72 Gallon Bow - ACF and GF tank.
26 Gallon Bow - ACF tank.

20 Gallon Long - ACF tank.

No abnormal shedding. I can't remember the exact perimeters. I get the water tested with the liquid kit at my lps. I had a few test strips lying around and that's how I checked the ammonia and nitrates.
I'm feeding my guys large night crawlers. Average poop.
The reason I'm concerned with Cecil is his tankmate is perfectly OK while he was seeming stressed
As for the filter change I'm putting both of them in until the new filter gets the beneficial bacteria

Nothing alarming in your info, any chance you may have just startled him (or your cat did) and he was settling down when you put your hand in?

I'd keep an eye on him and maybe do extra water changes for good measure but if his behavior stopped it was most likely a reaction to stimuli in the environment and no anything physically wrong with him.

It might be a good idea to pick up your own liquid test kit (They last forever!) so that should anything odd happen again you have your testing right there and can see the values. The strips can be quite inaccurate.
