yea but i had 2 but one died and they were in amplexus but the male drowned the female , and it calls

So, maybe it is male or it somehow it is female laden with testosterone. According to the books females are red, violets are blue, and males are yellow. In my group of tomatoes, there are three red/orange females and one yellow male, who is half the size of the females. Last Christmas, I tried breeding them unsuccessfully. The male was all gung ho, but the females had other ideas. Didn't get much sleep those nights.

Yes he definitely is a male I had a trio the female was massive and very red but they were in amplexus for 3 weeks on and off the noise wasnt that bad but alas the female was found dead in the water with the male still in amplexus .He gets a very dark chin when he gets himself
going, the other male was even redder but he died after a cricket bit him on the eye and it became infected, a big advantage of feeding roaches they dont bite your animals The new practical reptile mag did an article on breeding tomatoes,in a nutshell shallow water about 4cm of water use a spray bar for afew hoursat a time DON'T HAVE TOO DEEP WATER AS IT IS VERY COMMON FOR THE FEMALE TO DROWN
