So bit of an update, sorry for not replying.... Had no Internet.

Gonzo became more ill. He had a couple more episodes of bloating which came down with a honey bath but hewas very lethargic and not eating quite right. I decided to take him to the vet as he seemed to be spending alot of time in the water despite a good humidity. She agreed with my thoughts of an infection (I work in human healthcare so I took a guess and applied the same principles) and prescribed bay trial which I gave daily for 5 days on the fifth day he became suddenly much worse and had a seizure like episode where his legs stuck out and his abdomen pulsated he then looked dead, no breathing a stiff and I thought I had lost hime but he started breathing again and another long soak improved his condition during which he passed a poo with some of the substrate in. I took him that evening to the vet who had a phone consultation with a specialist and on their advice was give a sub-cut calcium injection and some fluids. I was to return him today for an X-ray. Over night he improved dramatically to the point I nearly canceled the X-ray but I had it done just incase. The vet showed me the X-ray (very cool to see!) and explained that there was nothing concerning, there was some gas present in his intestines which is concurrent with a bowel irritation. Her advice was to change the substrate from the orchid bark back to the humus brick we had before, to continue the full course of baytril and a daily honey bath.

Gonzo is now back to his lively self and looking very well, we're still unsure if it was impaction of sorts or a calcium deficiency (as I've read that that can present with seizure like episodes)

Also we saw him shedding his skin earlier and I've got it on video if you'd like to see I post a reply with the link shortly, it's just uploading
