that is pretty much what i did too, but without small holes. i covered the whole top with foil, cut holes bigger then need to for lamps for ventilation, cut hole and ducktaped hose from a fogger. this way set up holds humidity pretty well, lots of people use plastic wrap, i never liked it, foil look better to me and it is easier to cut holes, make them bigger or smaller if need to be.

Do you ever worry about ventilation ever? Or would there be plenty with the two big holes and the ventilation from the exo terra tank.

These tanks have air vents beneath the doors and a screen top. Even with half covered the circulation is acceptable. Just watch for mold growth.
