    Default Baby African Bullfrog questions.

It is just over an inch.
    1. How many crickets should I be feeding it per day.
    2. How many days a week should I dust the crickets with Komodo Amphibian dust.
    3. Why is it so scared of me? When ever I open the cage it jumps around like crazy.
    4. How long will it be before I can sex it and are there any ways I can sex a baby. They don't need to be accurate ways just if I use a few methods of sexing it then I could get an idea.

    Any answers would be appreciated.

Sized to distance between frog eyes, all it will eat until satiated daily. Keep that up until he gets around 4 in.; then feed every other day. When full grown a feeding or two every week is fine. Can alternate gut-loaded crickets with night crawlers (cut up for know) that are very nutritious.

No idea about that product. Normal dusting is CA 2X and vitamin 1X weekly on different days and with skip day in between.

    3. Why is it so scared of me? When ever I open the cage it jumps around like crazy.

Could be stressed due to shipping, change in enclosure, too much handling, etc. Mine learned to see me as food source and reacted to my presence jumping toward me for food; but never around like crazy or trying to get away from me.

    4. How long will it be before I can sex it and are there any ways I can sex a baby. They don't need to be accurate ways just if I use a few methods of sexing it then I could get an idea.

Usually can tell around 4-5 in. snout to vent length. If you can take pics of frog straight from above and one close-up of face profile from side we will gladly start trying to sex. Do not be surprised if the opinions differ, or if species is not what you think or got sold, etc. It happens in the African Bullfrog world .
Recommend you read the excellent care article we got here: Frog Forum - African Bullfrog - Pyxicephalus adspersus - Care and Breeding. Went ahead and answered your questions in the quoted area. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Feed it as much as it can eat in 15 to 20 minutes each day.

If this supplement is a calcium powder dust every other feeding. If it is a multivitamin dust once per week. If it is both combined then maybe every second feeding.

Babies tend to be flighty and it will be afraid until it becomes used to you and it's new hoke. This can take and hour or a week.

Can't 100% accurately sex the frog until it reaches about 4"+. This can take 1 month or more depending on actual gender, genetics, husbandry, and nutritional value of food offered.

Edit; Carlos posted at the same time as me.
