Meg
Brown Ceratophrys cranwelli. How often do you provide calcium with Vitamin D3? Your frog has and underbite and that isn't normal.
I use it a couple of times a week
please what can I do? Really worried just want to do best for flump
Okay thank you thank you is there nothing else I can do?
Okay I use repti-cal and nutrobal but it say that nutrobal has multi vitamin so what should I apply first once per week?
There is no need for two supplements that are multivitamins even if the one contains calcium. This poses the threat of causing vitamin toxicosis which can be deadly. It is an overload of vitamins within the frog's system causing it to be poisoned.
Use a multivitamin once a week and get rid of the multivitamin/calcium mix and replace it with a calcium supplement with Vitamin D3. I don't know anything about Nutrobal.
Okay thank u for your replys
Nutrobal is a calcium balancer and multivitamin supplement to help growth
It is high in calcium and vitamin D3
It also contains other important vitamns and minerals.
does this sound fine to use?just abit worried
Just read on the Internet I'm fine to use just nutrobal vitamin/mineral supplement with vitamin D3
Its use has been the main reason for the decline in cases of metabolic bone disease
So you liked that, because it felt like we were bickering over what supplement to use and what not to use
and I don't really like bickering with people
thank you for all you help and I will make sure I keep u updated with my frog and his underbite if I keep home on a good vitamin and D3 supplement will it go for good or just get better so it isn't totally affecting him ?
Thanx meg
Hmmm I believe your definition of bickering is different than mine. You asked for help and I provided it. No arguing or bickering happened here. I hit like because you researched your supplement yourself rather than asking someone else(me) to do it for you. This shows that you are a responcible keeper.
The underbite will not correct itself, but you can prevent it from becoming worse. Like MBD which cause soft brittle or rubbery bones you cannot correct the damage that has already occurred, but you can hault and further progression of the disease or bone distortion by providing the necessary supplementation needed. He will be fine.
Yes sorry I didn't mean like a nasty bickering and thank you
yes I once bought an albino pacman such a lovely bright one she was and I found out it had mbd as the person I got it off forgot to feed it most of the time and by the time I had got it it was to late to do anything and died within I'd say about a month
and here I was early getting so worried I just got confused about the supplements but will just stick with nutrobal
thanx for everything frogmadmeg![]()
