Hey Steniljeh, I'm basically going through the same process. However, my adopted pacman is eating. I just did exactly what the owner did when I first got her. I've fed my frog 2 mice since I've owned her and now she's eating worms (horned worms since they're big). I'm introducing her to earthworms tomorrow.

Maybe give them both a mouse each so there satisfied then try introducing new foods? Might want more info though; I'm also new to this.

This will be my final step. I hope frosted mice are fine. Don't want to feed living ones like the former frogdaddy...

    Thanks again guys

I would because it costs less that way but have trouble housing them. I might read about breeding my own worms. Maybe there is another insect I could maintain easier (worms should be easy). The earthworms from Walmart are way too long and it would be cheaper and more convenient for me to get worms from the yard as we have not used fertilizer for a while on the grass but even this is probably not safe for the frogs. If roaches did not cause impaction I'd consider them. I don't want flies in the house so yeah, I'll have to research this more. Maybe guppies if I can determine they are not sick. Reading up on bugs can be a project for me.

Getting worms from your yard is not safe. Some of the fertilizers could still remain in the soil and poison the frog. You can use a large tote to keep them in for breeding. You could jjust order a 200 count container online and use that to begin breeding the worms. Crickets are easy to breed, but the smell bad.

Yes mice that are frozen and you thaw them out before feeding them to your frog are just fine.

I just made a house for my mealworms: a plastic container with lid. Now I see the problem at the pet store with dead worms! They need correct temp, more air than store containers provide, no added water except a carrot or potato, some powdered grain or corn mash bedding along with a fold of paper to crawl into. Yep, gonna try this and maybe try crickets later. I wish I could buy or breed small earthworms, too. The store keeps stocking dead wax worms! They don't even notice!

unfortunately only if a frog is ok with not moving prey
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

I am happy to tell you that the Lady already ate two roaches. The male seems to be interested in food, But still refuses. I will visit a vet in the next few days after I am cured.

Oh gosh, I hope he eats. Maybe if you try dangling food in front of him...you said you are waiting to be cured? Are you upset about your frog? Just curious, thought I could help there, too.

Oh, no problem. Hope your back gets better. I have back pain from lifting things that are too heavy. Oh, and lifting people into a chair, too.

Lija when tong feeding prekilled food items you provide the necessary movement to stimulate the frog's feeding response. Many tong fed frogs accept almost anything. They make the connection that tongs = food.

Now of course this doesn't always work for each individual since they're all different.

The OP was asking if its ok to feed the prekilled rodents not whether they would be accepted or not.

The frog will probably decide. I found out the hard way I can't read about rodent food and eat dinner at the same time. I'll check later.
