Default Hello from an almost Pacman owner!

Hello I guess you can see by now how I have been lurking and reading all I can by this is my first post since joining in June wow, surprised me too.

But Anyway I have decided to purchase an Ornate green frog in the near further. My reptile store had a one for 30$ so I guess not to bad price wise. It was a baby too so I am ready to buy. So excited as I have no idea what exactly drew me to this breed but I guess personality wise we are the same. My mother always said that I had to have the baddest on the block so what else is new. Haha

I think that the coloring on the pacs are just to die for, I mean how can that stripe go from body to eye and back to body, just cool huh. I was a little worried about housing because Its close to winter and I hate a hot apartment and I just know that he/she would get cold. But I think I have found a remedy for that I see you breeders keep healthy frogs in a small container, happy and healthy.

I think that is what he/she winter home will be one of those small portable containers, kept in the comfort of the bathroom(who likes to put their feet on a cold bathroom floor? So this will be my remedy for the winter while I display he/she on the best 10gallon set up I can muster during the warmer months.

Well I have talked your heads off and I want to thank the mods, members and lurkers for making an outstanding frog community to hang out in.

Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

Welcome . If you're going to keep your frog in the bathroom, you'll need to keep a close eye on the temperature and humidity. I would think it'd be hard to keep it constant when people are showering and whatnot. There are ways to keep your tank warm during the colder months without having to put the tank in the bathroom (heat mats and/or heat lights). Maybe something like that would be easier on both you and the frog?

I second this post by wizzlewuzzle. They are much better ways to maintain your frogs climate than keeping it in the bathroom. The constant humidity and temp fluctuations can be extremely stressful and detrimental to it health.

Default Hello from an almost Pacman owner!

Thanks for the welcome to the site. Ok I will rethink the bathroom keep and figure something out . Yes Giftg, I read the informative care sheet and I have an ebook from amazon "Caring for Pacman frogs" I just downloaded. I have a couple of random books on frog care that mentions most frog breeds and a general care for herps.
