How does one go about sterilizing the moss you found in the woods of parasites and whatnot?

Best you can really do is give it a rinse in some dechlorinated water. I use moss from the woods in most of my tanks, never had anything bad happen yet *fingers crossed*

Moss will usually bring in some beneficial tank janitors like springtails & isopods.
