I would actually recommend the small Exo Terra when the Red Eye is a baby. This helps him to locate food easily. As it gets older you would want to go up to the medium Exo.

    Very much agree!
My 4 ( length of a penny) A. moreletii are in a 10 gallon. Otherwise they would be lost !!!
In fact , it is a 10 gallon vertical conversion--- but I still have it flat (horizontally positioned) I will stand it up when they get a little bigger.
As bsmerlie suggested a smaller/temporary 'nursery' tank can be used for monitoring food ,poop, and froggy well being.
It is a good time to add a little feeding bowl ( if you plan to use one) so they can become accustomed to it.
(providing food on both the bottom and the in the feeding bowl)
If you are planning to get a very small froglet they will not even use a soaking dish right away,
but will soak moisture form the paper towel substrate by flattening their tummies against it.
I have had my babies since 5/23, they are just starting to use the soaking dish and have just begun to hang around the rim of the feeding dish.
