Nearly all frogs change color. Especially as they grow from froglet to adult. Ceratophrys Joazeirensis is commonly known as The Caatinga Horned Frog. There are Brown and green morphs or phases of this species of Ceratophrys. Most frogs change color to adapt to their surroundings to camouflage themselves. It is very common for most if not all frog species to change color. Their skin contains several color pigments that they can utilize for the benefit of hiding and some will even change color with their mood.
They are rare to the pet trade because there are hardly any breeders that actually breed this species.

Oh. Well, the frogs I have never seem to change colours, but then again you said nearly, so. Plus, we only have 2 species of Anura, so I guess that doesn't help
. The frogs I have, have distinct colourations, that never change and allow me to identify them, but if they do change, it must be very gradual, because I haven't noticed. When I thought "changing colours", I thought something like a chameleon.
Oh, so that's why they're so expensive.
