    Default My new tomato frogs!

Hi everyone! So I went to buy some crickets the other day for my pacman frog and I saw these two tomato frogs there and I fell in love with them. I went home and started to research about them and found some information on them that I thought was a good amount. I went back two days later to get one. I ended up going home with both of them because one was missing the bottom of it's front foot. I felt bad for it and didn't want to leave it behind. Does anyone have any information that I should defiantly know? Thanks for any help you can provide me

Maggie, congrats! You must be thrilled, and how nice of you to get them both!

Here's a whole section we have on Tomato frogs: Frogs & Toads - Tomato Frogs, Painted Frogs & Microhylids at FrogForum.net

You will find valuable info in some of the threads. One of our experts Kurt has four of them. He would be able to inform you more.

I actually do have a question for you. I was up late last night writing a paper and I heard one of the frogs making a "croaking" noise and I was wondering if that meant that one is a male? It was quite loud and I wasn't sure if it was my pacman or one of the tomato frogs. Do the males only croak?

Yes, as far as I know, only the males call. Males tomato frogs are generally yellow and the females red/orange.
