Hi all,
I had a very long discussion with Frog Forum's founder John last night by email. It must have lasted at least three sentences (I'm pulling your legs, John. We know you're extremely busy).
Now during these three sentences, we spoke about Frog Forum and Facebook, and John gave me the green light to create a Facebook page. "Why a Facebook page when we already have a group?", you'll ask...
Here are the main reasons:
1. A Facebook page will allow us to appear in Google's search results (index), as opposed to a group. This means much, much more visibility.
2. We will be able to get a vanity url when we reach 25 fans. "A vanity url?"... Yes, something like: www.facebook.com/facebook.com.
3. In order for our page to attract new fans, it needs to be active. I will make sure it's updated daily, and with some if you here, that visitors' questions will be answered in a timely manner.
4. I will be able to create a "Like Us" tab, which will make it visually pleasant for all new members, and informative at the same time.
5. And one of my favourite reasons: We will have access to stats on visitors, activities, etc. Makes the web strategist in me happy.
So please, go right now and join the page. Frog Forum's community is by far the best forum community I have seen. It's only fair we show the rest of the world!
Our Facebook page: Frog Forum | Facebook
Eric
PS: This page will be bumped often.
