Okay, I am VERY confused about my frogs enclosure and temperatures... here is my old thread a few months back for reference http://www.frogforum.net/showthread.php?t=36040
Where should i insert the probe for the 85 degree "ideal" day time temp?
His substrate is always cold so I am worried. However if I place him in warm water under a heat lamp after feeding hell sit in the warm water for days.
I am looking into buying another one, but want to make sure mine is as happy as can be first.
He eats well by the way.
Place a digital themometer probe under the heat lamp and aim for 85oF, this should be on the land area and you can use a thermostat or (perhaps) dimmer plug to achieve this but this should be switched off and dropped several degrees at night. For any info I would really suggest reading Philippe de Vosjoli and Robert Mailloux book on African bull frogs, which is available on kindle, top book and the most Indepth information available on their care, rather than the contradicting info online. Best, jason
I appreciate your input. I am checking the book out now.
Everyone makes it seem like the frog must always be at African temperatures ...
