sick acf???
Hello! I'm not sure if this is a silly question... I have an albino African clawed frog and recently his veins have become really red and pronounced all over. Is this a good thing, or indication of illness? I only ask because when we first got him you couldn't really see the veins at all and now you can see them in the webbing, each toe, fingers, arms etc. Just wanted to make sure if there was cause for concern? Thanks!!

Well.. I have an albino ACF and his veins are very red too and he's perfectly normal, they're just more noticeable vs a pigmented frog (whose veins are usually much darker). Albino ACF do have more pronounced veins and they are bright red yes.
Does he act normal? Does he eat? Does he swim normally? I think if your frog had something as serious as red leg you'd notice since that's a very serious disease from bacterial infection. Is your husbandry for your frogs good? Does the water have zero ammonia/nitrite and under 20ppm nitrate?
99% of problems with ACF can be avoided by keeping the correct water chemistry and temperature (68-72F) and giving them a proper diet and not over feeding.

In the future when you have concerns of this nature remember a good picture is worth a thousand words.

Perception is good to have when it comes to frogs. If they're ill then time is the enemy. The sooner you notice a problem the better. Glad that this time is a false alarm.
