I'm not too familiar with Pickerel Frogs, but have seen many Leopard Frogs here in Ohio. Never saw one that didn't have large protruding hips like the one Amy found.

Hi, ive added a couple of posts about ACF, could you check them out for me thanks, also could you answer this question? my female ACF does not do a desist call when a male amplexs with her and shes not ready to breed, my other females used to call like mad and smash the tank up trying to offload an unwelcome male, instead she is very passive and seems to go into a trance, the first few times i saw this i removed the male off her thinking she was dead only to have her "wake up" and bolt. Is this unusual?
  9. Your realy cool, Just saying. You realy know about you amphibians!

African Bullfrog Identification Guide

by tgampper on January 4th, 2013 at 11:20 AM
Hi fellow froggers:

Over the last few months, I have noticed there was considerable confusion over which species of African bullfrog that you are keeping. I have prepared a guide, along with generous support of Frog Forum members and scientists is South Africa, that may help in resolving some of the problems. It is considered a work in progress and I hope to add to it as new information becomes available. The file is in PDF format and available at my Xenopus in Gopherspace web site

Terry's Xenopus Blog

by tgampper on September 29th, 2011 at 12:53 PM
Hi

My name is Terry and live in Bellevue, Nebraska (a suburb of Omaha). I have been keeping African clawed frogs and Surinam toads for many years and really enjoy them. This blog is for those of you who enjoy keeping these aquatic frogs. Everyone is welcome to contribute!

I recently came across a wonderful guide on keeping African clawed frogs (Xenopus). It is available online (PDF format) and free of charge. It is called Guidance on the Housing and Care of the African
