Hi, today I purchased a 60x60x90 (24x24x36) reptile one tank for my 4 whites tree frogs. I moved them into it after cleaning it. One of the frogs started to clime to the top and sit on a plant stuck to the wall and then jump up and hit the metal sliding door stuff that's the lid. I have only seen him do it on e but he keeps climing around the tank so I pressure he has done it a lot more.
His nose rub has got 300 times worse. Why does he do this? He didn't do it in the 45x45x60 (18x18x24) I had them in.
I just hate nose rub. It makes me sick. When I got my first frog which was a whites tree frog he had bad nose rub that was black. Hat was 2 months ago. It's still there the same now. I but betadine on it for the first 3 nights to prevent infection but no healing has taken place.
The he new guy that I got on christmass and his buddy had a tiny bit of nose rub as well. I did the same thing and still know healing and now it's 3 times worse. I feel sick. I can't get to sleep. I just want to know how to heal the nose rub. Please. I have made previous posts before about the nose rub but know one has really helped me.
Besides original Neosprin (not sure if available to you), not sure what else he help heal the sores, but to help prevent future issues can you post some pics of the the old & new enclosure, it might help with suggestions.

Hi Frogs1,
I'm sorry you haven't found the help you needed. Lets start here...
Original Neosporin can be used daily applied gently with a Qtip while he is sleeping. The ingredients in Neosporin are Bacitracin zinc, Neomycin sulfate and Polymyxin B sulfate in case you do not have Neosporin there. Do not use antibiotic ointments with pain relievers in them because most of the pain relievers will kill frogs.
Depending on the severity of the nose rub, you may need vet prescribed antibiotics. Do you have a photo?
Lets take a look at why your frog is trying to get out. Perhaps he does not feel safe? Tell us about your vivarium?
What kinds of decor do you have in it? Plants, branches? Live or artificial? Do you have the back and two sides covered with anything such as a background? Is the tank in a high traffic area? Noisy? Do you have other animals that could be frightening him? How is the humidity and temp in the tank?
Most often they do this because they are stressed. They are often looking to find a safe place. We can often make them feel safer by adjusting their homes, keeping them in a quiet area, and keeping other pets and humans from over stressing them.
We are happy to help guide you . Please answer the questions above so we may try, if you'd like.

Also, sometimes they just need a week or two to adjust to any new home.

I have a large fake plant and a small fake plant, two water bowls astro terf as substrate some vines on the walls, a large thick vine they can sit on like a branch, magnetic ledge and rock they can sit on. I think he might have just been stressed 1 new tank 2. Couldn't find his magnetic ledge that was on the opposite side of the tank.
I'm not sure if there is a photo or not on this post.
Well if that's a current photo of him he looks good. He may just need more time to adjust.

I agree. He looks okay. Can you post a photo of the tank?

Here the tank, also the photo of the nose rub isn't the guy jumping into the top it's my other WTF that got nose rub the day I got him 2 months ago ans still hasn't healed.
I would put in about 4 more of the hanging plants for him to hide in, and place one so it hangs over the ledge for him. Is that one of the magnatural ledges, the ones that hold with magnets? If so they also love the cave ones, I have one of each size. Also another thick branch of some sort to climb on. I know mine love to jump from branch to plants, to ledges, to caves.

I got 2 vines and a cave ledge today. Also why when I look at other photos of nose rub it's a ion dot when mine is like a black scratch or a brown dot?
Can't answer you on this one. The only one that nose rubbed was a toad and neosporin took care of that.

I had this problem once with my smooth-sided toad. I applied Neosporin twice daily because my vet said that twice daily was alright. Other vets may tell you different. I can tell you that it took several months for my toad's nose to heal completely with the pigment back to the original color. I can post photos of his nose when rubbed and how it progressed. I can also tell you that we were on a 10 day vacation when the rub occurred. We boarded our toad with the reptile store owner that we purchased him from (and have known for several years). We sent our terrarium and everything just like it was at home, and within 7 days he had rubbed his nose. Not sure anything I said is actually helpful, but I am empathetic for you with your baby having rubbed his nose.
