Day lamp is really hot! Plz help!

It is ok to set the lamp on the top of the screen lid if the bulbs wattage isn't too high. Most heat bulbs are only effective up to 12 inches. This will also depend on if its a 10 gallon long or 10 gallon tall though. Wattage is the main cause of issues with heat bulbs day and night types.

Of course! I was picturing a 10 gallon long, not high. Thanks for pointing that out.
