So I moved my little guys out of quarantine into a temporary plastic tub viv, which is planted, and as best I can tell froggie safe (homemade clay substrate, covered in sterilized leaf litter). The thing is my frogs are not establishing a favorite sleeping spot, like they did in the quarantine tank, and I don't understand why. Now today, I found one of them sleeping out in the open, on a rock! Is this normal? Does this mean I have a chillaxed frog, or does it mean he is going to die, or somewhere in between. The best I can guess is it is a bit more open than they would prefer, but I figured since the walls are kind of opaque, that wouldn't be a big issue. What do you guys think? Keep in mind this is a temporary situation, until it warms up and I can build the viv of ages for them, which will have a lot more climbing space, this was just a lash up. Also keep in mind, the moss in the photo has been removed, it died, and so I saw no reason to keep it.
