Hey all,
I have a young albino pacman (about 1.5 inch). This question may be a stupid one but I don't want to do anything wrong...
I know that the heat mat needs to go on the side and not the botton as frogs burrow to cool down. But does it make a difference which side you put it on? Would it make any difference if the heatmat was put on the back (long side of tank)?
I was wondering because where I live gets quite cold over winter and the small heatmat I have on the side does not heat the tank very well (gets to about 79F at the very hottest). I have looked online for a small mat that is of higher wattage, but no luck. So I would need a bigger one, but this will not fit on the small side of the tank.
Please advise, thanks in advance
Do what I do - use the heat mat to maintain night time temperature and use an incandescent bulb to raise the temperature during the day. 24 C / 75 F is fine during the night for them.

I thought you cannot use bulbs with albinos because of damaging their eyes? Or is it just certain types?
Also thanks for the reply John
Sorry for the delayed bump - but can anyone tell me whether it is just certain types of bulbs that you are not meant to use with albinos or whether it is all of them?
In theory, albinos should be more sensitive to UV light that non-albinos. Therefore avoid specific UV bulbs.

Oh I see. Thanks again John
