Tutti-Fruitty African Clawed Frogs - YouTube
I saw these at my pet store about a week ago, and I was wondering if anyone on here has heard of them.
From what I've gathered by further research is that they are dyed albino acf. Sort of like fruit tetras...

http://www.frogforum.net/aquatic-cla...iti-frogs.html - this was a thread on here from this spring.
I'm just trying to figure out how they are actually dyed. An injection of some sort has been the most common thing I've come across.
It looks pretty inhumane, but not as bad as these, which is also linked to on that one site.

That one was heartbreaking.![]()
Say "no" to "dyed" frogs! It doesn't make sense that anyone would want to buy one. I hope this fad ends quicker than the painted turtle (not referring to the species) craze.
There are "green glowing" animals, such as axolotls and jellyfish that are used in scientific research. I understand that the procedure doesn't do any harm to the animal. But, tutti-frutti frogs are just one more example of the stupidity and greed of man![]()

Who ever thought colouring frogs in like a kids colouring in book needs to slapped in the mouth every morning for the rest of their lives.
That's awful. So sad. Who knows what cruelty will be next. That should definitely be illegal.

Plus it has been a way for pet stores to sell then illegally because they're not ACF, they're Tutti Frutti... So its bad on both ends. I wish I could do something.
Post it on Facebook. We need to educate people so they won't buy them. Or contact the local news or newspaper. That's about the only way I guess. But I'm not sure how's that's safely or legally done. Maybe someone else knows?

I can accept an albino ACF's, because albinism is natural thing... but Tutti Frutti Frogs looks terrible. My friend said, that they are not 'painted' like Indian glassy fish, but it is a genetic modification - what do you think about it?
