African Clawed Frog bloating help!

I have 2 African clawed frogs in 15 gallon. One was bloated so I moved him to a 2.5 Gallon tank with anti-Bacteria stuff and aquarium salt.He is staying the same bloated though. He didnt eat for about a week but Today he accepted a cricket. But an hour or so ago he regurgitated the cricket than a minute I go I noticed we was puking out this black stuff. I was gross but I am very worried. There is a herp vet 2 an hour away and it cost 60 dollars for him to heal my frog. Please help! What should I do? He is around a year old.

Sorry to hear about your frog. There are two types of bloat. The first is a "hard bloat" caused by a bacterial infection. You can quarantine and treat with Maracyn II® and Maracyn Plus®, along with a salt bath. Unfortunately, this kind of bloat is generally fatal.

The second type is "whole body bloat". The frog looks like the Michelin-man. It is caused by an osmotic imbalance due mostly to improper care and maintenance. It is not necessarily fatal and can be treated by salt bath. However, there may be a secondary infection associated with either kind of bloat.

I am very concerned about the number of "bloating" cases I have heard in the past couple of years. Even though these frogs are very hardy, it is very important to maintain them properly. Take a look at the various threads on this forum for help. Good luck!
