Rupert doesn't ever get in his dish anymore so I sometimes don't change it for a day or two =x I know its bad but if he isn't using it there's no harm. I keep an eye on him so if he decided to move towards it I would change the water. I think if the water sits still for so long it may turn to stagnant water.
