    I hope they dont get to be a problem for the native eco-system. South Florida is loaded with invasives, some of which are extremely detrimental. Most notable is the Burmese python, but amphibians like the marine toad and the Cuban treefrog are real problems as well.

    i dont think they do cause any harm they need predator free ponds to breed theyve been here since 1875 and since been moved the entire country by mostly by humans, yes their in the pet trade, i know of 7 ponds in christchurch, there must be millions

    the coordinates for these two ponds are : (paste these into google earth) : for halswell :
    43°33'33.47"S, 172°34'15.91"E
    and for bottle lake is :
    43°28'18.34"S, 172°42'57.93"E
