The swelling on the one side doesn't sound good. If it developed suddenly, it's probably some sort of fluid buildup. Since they can do a lot of water exchange through their skin, you might want to try a pedialyte bath; the electrolytes in the external solution could help your frog get rid of excess water.

How much calcium are you giving the frog? I was just wondering, because an imbalance of salts or electrolytes can cause pretty bad water retention. Since both issues started up around the same time, I wonder if they're somehow related. Can you get a picture up? Hope your frog improves.

Here's a couple of pictures of what i'm talking about. I keep it in a critter carrier, cocofiber substrate, misted once daily (fiber is moist), kept in a warm room 76 degrees. I feed it crickets and superworms. So far it had been doing pretty good. I sprinked a little bit of Ca powder (1 pinch maybe) mixed it with water and syringed it into it's mouth once a day for 3 days. I've stopped now, didn't want to over do it. It's doing about the same, just sitting there. When I pick it up it screams. Never did that before. Put a cricket in and it never even moved.

You may want to take him to a vet. The swelling could be fluid retention or caused by a bacterial infection in the intestines. It may be in pain and that's why it screams when you pick up your pac. I'm no expert by no means, but it could be Dropsy. The description is an abnormalAccumulation of serous bodily fluids. The causes are, possibly bacteria, but more so improper body metabbolism. This could be caused by an inadequate diet or poor climatic maintenance. Symtoms are, Bloating, soft dermal abnormalities. Particularly around the abdominal region. I just read this from a book I have. I would suggest taking him to a vet. Its too risky to treat at home. I'm not certain this is what's wrong but it definetly sounds very similar. Good luck.
