Just keep in mind that you will have to change the water so you probably want to have a plan for water changes.

Although water features look cool nothing beats a water bowl you can clean out everyday. My Red Eyes poop in the water bowl almost every time plus I'm sure they are peeing in it too. The water bowl feels slimy the next day. There's no way, even with a filter, that a water feature wont build up waste pretty quickly. I have a water feature in my tank but I also have a couple of water bowls that they soak in and I clean those out every morning. That way the water feature stays pretty clean.
