Is it okay to use duct tape?

I'm in the process of setting up a tank for fire-bellied toads, and I've got two pieces of driftwood that I would like to connect to each other, in order to create a climbing opportunity. I was wondering if it would be okay to use duct tape to tape two pieces of wood together? I'm not sure how well it would work, but if the tape isn't harmful to the frogs I might give it a shot.

The tape has toxic chemicals. It would be safer to use aquarium silicone, which must be 100% dried over 3 to 5 days .

Actually I don't think the tape adhesive is too dangerous, but the tape won't remain sticky for long. Heather Anne is right about the silicone. It sticks wood together very well. That's what I use actually.

If you're looking to attach two pieces of wood together semi-permanently but still be able to separate them cleanly afterwards, you can use plastic zip ties, the kind they make impromptu handcuffs out. They come in black are very durable, and can be cut off no problem.

Silicone will work too of course, but doesn't clean up as easily if you change your mind at a later date.
