To keep this on-topic, how did your amphibians react to it? Mine just stayed soaking in the water dish like nothing was happening. I ran outside because it felt like the house was coming down (it's olddddd.)
You guys are silly. Here is California we sleep through an earthquake that size.
Yes is it a myth that your frogs can tell or even care about earthquakes. I've sat and watched my frogs as the earthquakes happen and they either continue to sleep (tree frogs) or simply stop bouncing around just long enough for it to stop. Cats and Dogs are the ones who freak out.. oh and of course...people from the east coast.![]()
What is this "earthquake" that you speak of..? Must be some sort of US humbug.
I read about it on facebook from a friend of mine who lives on the east coast! Glad you're safe!
2.0.3 Hyla versicolor "Eastern Gray Tree Frogs"
2.2.0 Agalychnis callidryas "Red Eyed Tree Frogs"
0.0.3 Dendrobates auratus "Turquoise and Bronze"
0.0.1 Anaxyrus fowleri "Fowler's Toad"
California has many earthquakes, but 5.9 is nothing to sneeze at. You might get one of those every 5-10 years.
youve got to see these then : this is in town watch the lucky guy hide in a doorway from a big 6.3 aftershock worse than 7.1 (very shallow right under the city) :

We are a bunch of rookies out here!!! Lol
We were visiting Pittsburgh that day. I didn't even feel it, but I guess others could.
I lived in the Mohave Desert for a year. We had them there occasionally. But, when I lived in Washington we had them more frequently. Shook our apartment pretty good. We just hung our wall pictures and decor by screwing them right to the walls. You get used to them after a while. Lol!
