Great stuff?

Hey guys, i have a question about the great stuff foam. Since there is no foam with the name "Great stuff" in the bulgarian market ill have to use one-component foam, so... can it harm my frogs (preparing the tank for leptopelis vermiculatus) ? I found ceresit foam in the store, but the description said it can harm water residents, but if this is only until the foam dries was not clear. The other available foams were bulgarian production which i do not trust and i dont know what to do.

Also i would like to ask about egg crate, does it have some other name, because i dont know how to explain what im looking for in the store. What is it used for (despite the terrariums)?

After a little research, yes they are both polyurethane-based insulating foam sealants and just remember you want to cover the foam with a 100 percent silicone layer to put your substrate into.

The CERESIT WINTER TS51 foam shows it is non-toxic after curing.
I would do some test strays to see how much it expands and how easy it is to carve once it dries before doing your background with it.


As for Eggcrate. It is a lighting louver or light fixture cover and that is where you'll find it in most hardware type stores.

Thank you very much for the fast answer. I bought BISON Construction Foam which says to be environmentally safe.
Although there is no sign of egg crate in neither of Praktiker, Baumax or Mr.Bricolage I gotta check our small local store, sometimes they have things that cant be found in the hypermarkets. Atleast the markets tour was not in vain since i bought some nice and cheap plants for the viv
