I dust daily with both vitamins and calcium for my baby spring peepers and my toadlets. Going off their size, they could easily eat 1/4 inch crickets. I would let them eat as many as they will in about 15 minutes. They are growing so they should know how much they need. It's the adults you have to worry about obesity with. My adult grays get their crickets dusted every 4 days.

Are 1/4 inch crickets considered pinheads?
No, 1/4 inch crickets are not considered pinheads. Pinhead crickets are really small, about 1/15 inch in size!
darn, beat me to it, lol

Can new froglets handle eating the 1/4 crickets? I have ordered fruit flies, but they don't arrive until tomorrow or Friday and I've spent several days calling around for fruit flies or pinhead crickets with no success. The couple of places that do carry them said that they just threw them out because all were dead.
I've thought about trying to hunt down a few bugs to tide them over, but I'm concerned about the pesticide issue...I was really suprised that Atlanta doesn't have pinheads or fruit flies in the pet stores....not sure what to do at this point. I hope that these little guys can survive until tomorrow.
