Default Baby pac mans as food..

Ok, I have been keeping pacmans for 11+ years, and worked in many reptile stores. We all know what they will eat. Pretty much anything than moves. I was at a local pet store and they have a very large pacman....probably 5.5 inches snout to vent. Inside that SAME tank they are keeping 5 tiny albino pacmans. Yes tiny half inch accross little buggers. So I very nicely asked the owner him self "arent you nervous that big guy is going to eat those brand new babies?" His reply is this "pfffft no, no way I feed that big one so many adult mice every week he dosnt want anything to do with eating another frog" I simply shook my head and walked out. Maybe I should I show him the responses I get from this post to prove he has no clue what hes talking about and that he is far from any sort "expert". Its one thing if you do this **** at home. Its a whole new story when you are showing people who are new to these animals that this sort of thing is ok.

Its a disaster waiting to happen. One day i walked into a chain pet store here on the East coast. I right away always walk straight to the reptile area as fast as possible all the time. When I got there I noticed 4 frogs in the tank. A tomato, pugdy, and a baby whites tree frog inside a pacmans mouth. I called the "expert" over and told him the situation ,and he responded "Oh well that frog is dead". I said no his not i can get him out,so I did. He wanted to pull the wtf out of the pacmans mouth and i stopped him. He has no clue about the teeth like bones. Any way to make things short i saved the two frogs ,and asked him to separate them please!

Anyone who has any idea about the tendencies of Pacman frogs knows that one of the first rules is to house them alone or atleast with other packmans of equal size. Its just foolish to house other frog species or baby pacmans with an adult pacman. They are highly canniblistic from birth. Pet stores don't know anything most of the time about the reptiles and frogs they sell. It literally makes me angry that they know so little about what they sell.

Yet you have to wonder, if these frogs do eat each other in the wild, and some of the biggest frogs recorded were wild caught, perhaps there is a positive correlation? For sure there are some moral quandaries, but it's an interesting debate / topic for sure

By the way, I'm Jason, I have 2 C. Cornuta frogs, 1wc male and 1cb female (Lily, short for lillypad)who is a beautiful emerald or lime green depending on the substrate. The male, Houdini, is mostly tan with a beautiful green stripe down his back.
I am currently planning on breeding him in the fall and may have a few babies for sale (I Expect cool colors from him, I Have yet to post pictures but I am still new to actual posts on the forum (most of my work has been behind the scenes in PMs) so I will probably do so shortly. I absolutely Love these amphibians, and I can see how they can easily become an addiction. There are currently 4 baby Pacman frogs at my local pet store (Preuss pets in Lansing Michigan, they actually know how to care for these frogs and the manager of the reptile department has a few of his own so you know they're well taken care of, 2 albinos and 2 greens, all the size of. Quarter. It's so hard not to bring one home

Ps, I find the Pacman to be too special of a species to promote cannibalistic feeding, it's one thing if a few tadpoles get eaten accidentally but I don't think I could justify raising a batch purely for feeding purposes.
    - I could see how having an alternative to pinky mice with less fat but similar growth properties is very appealing however and should be looked into
