I don't think I can answer this accurately because I only have a cranwelli, but I would really like to get an ornate. They have really nice colorings and it would nice to have a species that enjoyed eating xD

It seems that C.ornata is a good choice. They are hardier, more active, more aggressive, and get bigger. All the reasons many people get a Pacman Frog. At least, almost all.

C.cranwelli are much more available. They also don't cost as much (usually) as the others. They are relatively hardy as far as Pacman Frogs go.

C.cornuta are very beautiful Pacman Frogs, but certainly aren't without their cons. They are not very available, and they are also very expensive compared to general species. Unfortunately, they aren't nearly as hardy as other Pacman Frogs, which is pretty sad.

"Fantasy" Pacman Frog isn't really a species. It is a sterile hybrid. Generally it is a mix between C.cranwelli and C.cornuta. If it isn't a mix of those species, than the species should be specified because many people only consider that combination as a Fantasy Pacman Frog. They aren't as beautiful as C.cornuta, but they are much hardier, more readily available, and don't cost nearly as much.

Oops. Sorry, I guess I got carried away with all the advantages/disadvantages of the species. I guess I wrote down the "why" part Ok LOL.

Personally I have only kept C.cranwelli, but I intend to get an Ornate for my next Pacman Frog.

I love the colourings on all of them but at a push I'd say Ornates for the vibrant reds and greens, and their huge appetites.

I had to vote Cranwelli, because that's what my little guy is! Not that I'm partial or anything ;-) They are all beautiful, but MeTree is right about some breeds being hardier and living in captivity better.

Thanks BG! His pattern keeps getting more intricate as he gets older. I think he's quite a looker, but like I said I'm a lil biased. Lol!
