I have the Exo Terra : Thermo-Hygro / Combination in my Fire Belly tank which is 70% water. My Exo Terra hydrometer read 90% for about 2 weeks when i first bought it then went down in the 25% range. I bought the ZooMed Reptifogger and Now It runs 15 minutes every 45 minutes from 7AM - 10 PM and I read 60% After it turns off and it gets down to 30% right before it turns back on. One thing to watch out for is to make sure you are not spraying your hydrometer with your mister. I probably wont buy another exoterra digital hydrometer again. hope this helps someone.
One thing that is quite easy to do , to retain humidity levels, is put a bandanna over the screen part. I do it with my pyxie enclosure. It works just fine.
