You think so? I don't think TheFrogRanch would completely destroy that hereditary trait, they probably used some of the bigger class afb's. It all depends on certain genetics, husbandry, and probably the most important is the diet you are providing for it to grow to maximum potential. Some of the other breeders may have destroyed the trait, I think that there are pixies as big as Sloppy.

I imagine here in the U.S. when they first started breeding pyxies the only pyxies that would breed were bred. So they weren't selected for size as much as willingness to breed. I'm sure many of you know breeding pyxies is a very very difficult task which is why the biggest pyxie supplier in the U.S. uses hormone injections to breed them regularly. Personally, I feel that the hormones might be the cause for a lack of size with these frogs.
I'm sure they're using top of line equipment with custom setup rain chambers to resemble the barometric pressure and naturalistic habitat during breeding season for these frogs. I thought I read that Kim Thomas swears by not breeding frog with hormones.
