Now I have the hard task of figuring out how to breed sloppy next spring, but I need to find a female.
Good Luck with that. Might want to send a message to Jeff(onedge) about the do's and don'ts of pyxie breeding

Great Idea! Thanks for reminding me he attempted to breed them. If it comes down to it I would even bring down Sloppy to Florida to Jeff(onedge) on loan to see if we can get some babies.

Yes sloppy Joe was a South African Import. They say the "ranched" Pyxies from south africa get much larger and beastly than the U.S. Captive bred specimens. Slop is living evidence of this.

I guess the size was a wild trait that they lost here in the U.S.. I bet you they breed them with small males and females.. In the wild only the biggest, and strongest gets to breed. They destroyed that trait, and to much bad breeding.

How common are the imports? Did Phat Phibs just have connections with some organization down there or something?

Phat Phibs purchased the frog from another collector about a year ago, that collector purchased the frog when it was 3 inches from ed clark and raised it to the size he is now.
From my experience looking for imports, they are pretty rare.

That's what I wanted to know about Oz also. From the side angle he's ridiculous. Phat Phibs said Oz is there biggest and Moosh is their most aggressive. I'll message him on youtube and see if he'll make another video for Oz since they're aiming for more subscribers.
