Lighting Questions??

The light you linked is going to be a a few inches too wide to sit on the top of a 10 gallon vert comfortably. The one I linked is not as wide as the top of the terrarium will be (I'm using the exact setup I described on my latest dart terrarium). The light you linked generates about the same amount of light as the CFL bulb I talked about (about 1000 lumens), so they're pretty much equivalent. I bet that Marineland LED light costs a lot more though. Do you have a price on it?

I don't have any to show you but it's a horizontal, not a vert. It's still the same width though as a vert. Regarding night lighting, those aquarium night lights are usually blue and in my opinion they're too bright for frogs. We generally recommend a dim red light for night viewing. By the way, the terrarium I was talking about is the one you see on FrogTV channel 1. Tune in during the day time and you'll see what it's like.

You got my curiosity up so I got one of these marineland LED lights. In my opinion they are not as bright as a 20 watt CFL daylight bulb, but they are not very far off. Petsmart is selling it right now for about $32 + tax. Bit overpriced but I'm very impressed with the lack of heat from the lights. The one major downside is that there is no protection of the LEDs themselves - you could splash water on them because there's no cover.

wow ok . Could you put some pics on how it fits on the 10 gal vertical. also some shots of how the tank looks with the night light and day light.

hey john how has the LED light work for you? does the light promote plant growth? does the light reach the bottom of the tank?
