    Default White Tree Frogs died

I have had two White's Tree Frogs for aprox 6 months now and my husband found them deceased by the water bowl today. One was actually in the bowl and the other was near it. We haven't noticed anything physically different about them and they were chasing crickets and being really active earlier. We do declorinate the water and make it in batches that way it can get stale. The only thing I can think that has been different is we just bought crickets to feed them in the last couple of days. We normally feed them crickets (and gut feed them) and mealworms. Also I live in Texas and we have been having power issues so the AC has been set to 80. I'm not sure if the night temperature being that high could harm them or not. We mist them and clean the tank often. Any ideas on what could kill them so quickly?

Very sorry to hear about your frogs. This is just a guess but I would have to say heat....but it would have had to been hotter than 80 degrees. Maybe with the lights the temperature rose higher than you think and then the lights dried out the tank. They could have died from dehydration in that time span. WIthout any other further information thats my best guess on the quick demise. Again, sorry to hear about your frogs.

When 2 die at the same time like that it has to be an environmental issue or poisoning. I think Cheri is correct - they died of overheating. These frogs come from the tropics, where the temperature and humidity is pretty stable 365 days a year. They can't deal with harsh heat spikes.
